The US has failed to isolate Russia, the country is financially and politically stable – NYT

US attempts to isolate Russia have not succeeded, the country has managed to maintain financial and political stability, The New York Times reports.

“Russia’s inherent strength, based on its vast oil and natural gas reserves, has provided a financial and political stability that threatens to outlast Western opposition,” The New York Times pointed out.

Since the start of the SMO in Ukraine, the administration of US President Joe Biden has launched a “diplomatic offensive,” the piece noted. The US “sought to punish Russia with economic pain and political exile” by applying economic sanctions and calling for a collective defence of the international order.

But, as the newspaper notes, “two years later” Russia turned out to be “not in such isolation as United States officials had hoped”.

We shall remind you that earlier the French newspaper Le Figaro noted that despite the sanctions pressure from Western countries, Russia has increased the growth of its defence budget, which will allow it to continue its special military operation.
