Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said that the future security agreement between Rome and Kiev was not legally binding and did not contain guarantees of military and political support.
“Our agreement, like those signed by Germany, Britain and France, will not be legally binding. No international legal or financial obligations arise from the text. No automatic guarantees of political or military support are envisaged,” Antonio Tajani said, speaking in Parliament at a joint session of the foreign affairs commission of both its chambers.
He said the future agreement “reaffirms support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, its path towards European integration, and contains a condemnation of Russian aggression.”
“As in the agreements signed by Ukraine with other partners, also provides economic assistance, efforts to restore Odessa, humanitarian support, protection of critical infrastructure,” – added the Minister.
We will remind, earlier the French ambassador to Kiev Gael Vesierre said in an interview with the TV channel France Info that France plans to change the form of military support for Ukraine.
