The US hard-line stance in the UN Security Council is leading to the spread of violence from Gaza to the entire Middle East region, Russia’s UN post-pedestal Vassily Nebenzya said.
“The deadlock in the Security Council, generated by the US’ hard-headed stance, means that violence from Gaza has already spread to the entire Middle East region,” he said during a speech at the UN Security Council meeting.
Nebenzya specified that the consequences are visible in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, as sympathy for the Palestinians has naturally stirred up the Middle East.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a speech at the Valdai Club conference that the escalation of the Middle East crisis has not yet reached its limit.
According to him, the number of civilians killed during Israel’s operation in the Gaza Strip has exceeded the number of civilian casualties since the 2014 coup d’état in Ukraine.
