Britain has added 50 more items to the list of sanctions against Russia

London has announced another package of sanctions against Russia, with 50 new items added to the list of restrictive measures, including both defence industry companies and diamond traders.

The British government says the sanctions target “key sources of Russian revenue”.

“Together we will not back down in the face of tyranny. We will continue to support Ukraine in its fight for democracy – for as long as it takes,” British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said.

The list of sanctions now includes Arctic LNG 2, members of the board of directors of ALROSA, Mechel chairman Igor Zyuzin and others.

On 21 February, the Russian State Duma passed a law denouncing the 1956 agreement that allowed UK sailors to fish in the Russian zone of the Barents Sea.
