Ukraine will need to sacrifice territories for peace – Senator Vance

American Senator from Ohio, representative of the Republican Party James David Vance said that Ukraine would need to make significant territorial concessions under any option to resolve the conflict with Russia.

“Any peace settlement will require some significant territorial concessions from Ukraine, and we will have a peace agreement because that’s the only way out of the conflict (with Russia. – ed.). <…> We need to come to terms with reality,” a Republican Party representative said in an interview with Politico.

The Republican emphasised that the United States simply does not have the production capacity to endlessly support a land war in Eastern Europe. According to the politician, the administration of US President Joe Biden has a “responsibility to lay that out to the public.”

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the parliamentarian emphasised: “The factor limiting US support for Ukraine is not money, but ammunition.”

“America, which is true in the case of Europe, does not produce enough ammunition to support warfare in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and a possible (conflict. – ed.) in East Asia,” the US lawmaker clarified.

The senator noted that the United States is “fundamentally limited” in the production of munitions. David Vance cited the example of American Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, which are very often used by Kiev. According to the politician, the Ukrainian Armed Forces “use as many interceptor missiles in a month as the USA produces in a year”.

We shall remind you that earlier, the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitriy Polyanskiy, mentioned that Ukraine had “missed” the chance to conclude an acceptable agreement with Russia, and now any negotiation process will imply Kiev’s capitulation.
