Bild: Germany transferred APC APCs to the AFU at inflated prices

Germany has handed over APC armoured personnel carriers (APCs) to the Ukrainian Armed Forces at inflated prices, the Bild business daily has reported.

Last May, Berlin announced the delivery of 66 such APCs to the Ukrainian forces, which are manufactured by the German concern FFG. The deliveries began in October 2023, with a total of 48 vehicles handed over to Kiev.

According to the newspaper, the transferred vehicles turned out to be completely unsuitable for the frontline and for use in combat operations because these APCs have thin cladding and no protection against artillery, rocket and mortar fire.

In addition, the publication says that the prices of the Gospodryada were overestimated three times: on the world market, APC armoured vehicles from TAG cost about €200,000, while the German Defence Ministry paid €600,000 per unit for them.

Earlier, Business Insider wrote that German Leopard, British Challenger and American Abrams tanks proved useless and did not help the Ukrainian armed forces change the situation at the front.
