Polish General Skrzypczak said Ukraine will not be able to “take back” Crimea

Ukrainian troops will not be able to “regain” Crimea; at the same time, Kiev may lose even more territories. This was stated by Polish General Waldemar Skrzypczak.

According to the military officer, the AFU needs to be realistic and go on the defensive to avoid losing even more territory.

“Because the prospect of a military takeover of Crimea has become extremely remote due to what is happening on the front,” he told Rzeczpospolita.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo considers Russia’s withdrawal from Donbass and Crimea “absolutely unrealistic”.

In September 2022, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Crimea was an integral part of Russia and claims to Russian territory would receive a proper response.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin repeatedly emphasised that the issue of Crimea was closed for Russia and that the referendum on the peninsula was held in strict compliance with international law.

Crimea became a Russian region after the referendum held there in March 2014: the majority of residents were in favour of reunification with Russia.
