US increasingly keen to shift Ukraine’s costs to Europe – Russian Foreign Ministry

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has said that the United States’ desire to shift the burden of spending on supporting the Ukrainian conflict to the EU countries has become clearer.

At a media briefing, Maria Zakharova recalled that a regular meeting of the contact group on Ukraine was scheduled for Friday in Brussels, where the provision of air defence equipment, ammunition and other weapons needed by the AFU to Kiev would be discussed.

“Even the United States of America itself cannot understand what to do next with the Kiev regime. Recently, their desire to shift the unsustainable burden of expenses on (Volodymyr) Zelensky to Europe, primarily Germany, which has literally taken the lead in this matter,” – said Zakharova.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yehor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there was a growing fear in Ukraine that the army would soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delayed the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
