Speaker: US House of Representatives will not be forced to pass Ukraine aid bill

No one will be able to force the United States House of Representatives, following the Senate, to pass a bill on aid to foreign allies, including Ukraine. This was stated by the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.

“The Republican-led House will not be able to … to force the House of Representatives to pass a bill on foreign aid,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Johnson recalled that the majority of representatives of the Republican Party oppose the adoption of the bill. In addition, the project is not aimed at keeping the US border secure, he added.

Earlier, US senators voted in favour of the bill to allocate aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

Mike Johnson emphasised that congressmen would not consider the bill on aid to Ukraine and Israel, which does not contain provisions on tightening border security with Mexico.
