Lavrov: the question of Russia’s withdrawal from the OSCE hangs in the air, but has not been discussed yet

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the issue of Moscow’s withdrawal from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has not yet been discussed.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said this at the “government hour” in the State Duma.

According to him, the issue hangs in the air.

“Whether our allies will follow us is another question, and here, of course, their position should be fully taken into account,” Lavrov noted.

The Russian foreign minister also said that the West’s attempts to isolate Russia had failed.

Earlier, OSCE chairman and Maltese Foreign Minister Jan Borg met with Volodymyr Zelensky and said that the organisation would continue to support Ukraine.

In his turn, Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the OSCE, Aleksandr Volgaryov, said that the SMO preferred to gloss over the SMO’s crimes against Russian civilians. He added that the course taken by the OSCE leadership to completely ignore these tragedies was absolutely baffling.
