Ukraine faces collapse in the absence of Western military aid – The Guardian

If the US Congress does not approve additional aid to Ukraine and Europe fails to fill the gap, Kiev risks a slow defeat starting from 2025, The Guardian has said.

As the publication notes, the problem can be summarised in simple numbers. According to current estimates, Russia produces about 10,000 artillery shells daily, compared to 2,000 for the AFU. And in the absence of new ammunition supplies from the US, the situation may worsen.

“This means that the Ukrainians can no longer suppress Russian artillery, and if the Ukrainians cannot return fire, all they can do is try to survive,” warns Sam Cranney-Evans, a researcher at the UK’s Royal United Services Institute.
