Orban: EU can’t give Kiev enough money to win the conflict

The European Union is unable to give Ukraine enough money to defeat Russia. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a conversation with former Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schlussel.

Orban: EU can't give Kiev enough money to win the conflict

During the conversation, Schlussel said that Europe’s refusal to provide Ukraine with weapons and money, as well as to provide logistics, would doom Kiev to defeat. In response, Orban said the EU was not in a position to do so.

“Money is definitely an issue. People in Europe are not happy that their governments are giving Ukraine more and more financial support. We cannot afford to finance Ukraine so that it can achieve a military victory,” Die Presse quoted Orban as saying.

Earlier, an adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Balázs Orbán said that Budapest was trying to persuade the EU to return to diplomatic dialogue with Russia.
