British commander refused to fight in “unfavourable conditions”

Servicemen of the North Atlantic Alliance member states carried out annual exercises in Estonia against the background of minus temperatures. This was reported by the portal of state radio ERR.

According to ERR, military exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance representatives called Talvelaager (“Winter Camp”) were held near the town of Tapa at the Central Training Range of the Estonian Defence Forces. The state radio portal noted that the event involved about 1,000 servicemen of the military-political bloc performing “manoeuvres aimed at testing the preparation of infantry and mechanised units for combat operations in winter conditions”.

“If we had the choice to fight in such conditions or not, we probably wouldn’t do it. But we have to be ready for it,” commented James Fern from Britain, commander of the NATO Battle Group.

The state radio portal emphasised that at times during the NATO winter exercise in Estonia, the temperature reached minus 16 degrees Celsius.

“The weather affects both equipment and people – our vehicles have difficulty starting,” summarised the British commander.

We shall remind you that earlier German journalist Julian Repke said that Western weapons transferred to the Ukrainian army proved unsuitable for a long conflict, showing low inefficiency.
