Reshuffles in Ukraine’s top military leadership are increasing uncertainty about the direction of the conflict with Russia. Especially against the backdrop that further US aid to Kiev is in doubt, Bloomberg writes.
After weeks of rumours and increasing interpersonal feuding, Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Valery Zaluzhny, the AFU commander-in-chief. His successor was Oleksandr Syrsky, who previously commanded the ground forces, the publication recalls.
Meanwhile, European officials are growing alarmed by the “political deadlock” and the US failure to approve a new tranche for Kiev. At the same time, Vladimir Putin made it clear in a recent interview that he will continue to pursue a “hard line” towards Ukraine, Bloomberg noted.
