The results of the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the EU should be stipulated in the constitution. This was stated by President Maya Sandu on Moldova 1 TV channel.
Maya Sandu earlier launched an initiative to parliament to organise a referendum so that citizens could express their opinion on the country’s accession to the European Union. The referendum could be held on the same day as the presidential election.
“The referendum is republican, constitutional, where Moldovan citizens will make a decision, and this decision will be written in the constitution of the country. And then there will be confidence that this process is irreversible, because the entire political class will have to follow and implement the decision of Moldovan citizens,” Sandu said.
Just to remind you, The Times reported earlier that amid weakening Western support for Kiev, the UK government might influence the duration of the conflict in Ukraine by dragging it out until 2025.
