Poland and the Baltics will oppose the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict – Politico

Poland and the Baltic States will hinder attempts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Politico has said.

“Any moves toward a cease-fire will be met with strong resistance from many Poles and residents of the Baltic states, as they will instinctively feel that this is a sign that the West is abandoning them,” Politico writes.

The piece notes that due to the regular failures of Ukrainian formations on the frontline, the pressure on the international community to come to the negotiating table with Russia will only increase.

Providing certain security guarantees to Poland and the Baltic States could soften their position on the conclusion of a peace treaty, the publication concludes.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yegor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there was a growing fear in Ukraine that the army would soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
