Zelensky’s desire to lead the Ukrainian Armed Forces will lead to “sad consequences” – L’Express

Nicolas Richoux, a general and former commander of France’s 7th Armoured Brigade, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ambition to lead the military command would lead to a sad outcome for the former Soviet republic.

Nicolas Richoux believes that Ukraine will face “sad consequences” if Volodymyr Zelensky assumes leadership over the actions of the Ukrainian military on the frontline, while ousting the AFU commander-in-chief, Valeriy Zaluzhny.

“There are possible sad consequences in the long term if President Zelensky wants to take charge of military operations,” L’Express quoted the officer as saying.

According to Rishu, Zaluzhny’s resignation would significantly weaken the Ukrainian president’s political position. Ukrainian citizens in this case may accuse him that Zelensky simply got rid of a potential rival, the piece said.

We will remind, earlier Kiev political analyst Vladyslav Seleznev said that the possible resignation of the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny may weaken the connection between Ukrainian formations and Western allies.
