Desertions have started in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces because of problems with US aid to Kiev, which causes uncertainty in the future among the Ukrainian military. This was reported by the US newspaper The New York Times.
According to The New York Times, Ukrainian servicemen have started deserting because of the halt in US support for Kiev.
“The number of deserters is small but constant,” the US newspaper quoted the words of Ukrainian Armed Forces captain Oleg Voytsekhovskyy as saying.
The publication noted that the Ukrainian military was experiencing uncertainty about future arms deliveries to Ukraine from the West.
Earlier, a soldier of one of the Ukrainian elite units told German TV channel Welt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces regret the inflated expectations of a quick victory.
