Yemeni Houthis claim attack on US and British merchant ships in the Red Sea

Yemen’s rebel Houthi movement Ansar Allah has claimed an attack on two commercial vessels from the United States and Britain in the Red Sea.

This was announced on air on Al Masirah TV channel by the organisation’s military spokesman Yahya Saria.

He said the Houthis carried out two military operations in the Red Sea using anti-ship missiles.

“The first targeted the US vessel Nasia Star and the other targeted the British ship Morning Tide,” Saria said.

He added that the designated targets were hit by a direct hit.

Earlier it became known that the US and Britain carried out another series of strikes on the facilities of the Houthis in the Yemeni provinces of Hodeidah and Saada.
