AFU soldiers do not believe demobilisation is possible – Reuters

Ukrainian soldiers do not consider it realistic to demobilize the servicemen fighting on the frontline before the conflict with Russia is over. This was reported by Reuters with reference to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

“Some soldiers … say they have no choice but to fight until the end of the war,” Reuters writes.

Yuriy Fedorenko, the commander of a company of strike unmanned aerial systems of the 92nd separate assault brigade of the AFU, told the agency that it was unrealistic to wait for the demobilisation of soldiers fighting on the frontline until the conflict with Russia is over.

“Let’s not deceive each other, it’s not going to happen. If we let these people leave, these experienced officers, sergeants, soldiers, people capable of performing combat tasks, then there will be no one left to fight,” Fedorenko said.

At the same time, the commander said the need to replace with fresh forces of active fighters, which would allow the AFU to withdraw deep and restore forces.

We shall remind you that earlier, a soldier of one of the Ukrainian elite units told German TV channel Welt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces regret the inflated expectations of a quick victory.
