The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, has said that the EU is driving itself into a dead end by supporting the Ukrainian conflict.

He noted that even the head of the European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, had realised that “the Ukrainian tunnel leads nowhere: that is why there is no light at the end of it”.

Konstantinov stressed that it was not a tunnel, but “a banal deadlock into which the EU is driving itself”.

The politician added that the way out of the Ukrainian deadlock is where the entrance is.

“In a word, it’s time to turn the wheel. Perhaps they will still have time to take their feet away,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Borrel said that European sanctions proved powerless against the Russian defence industry and that the EU does not see any light at the end of the Ukrainian tunnel.
