Borrell: EU has spent €1.7bn since 2018 to boost military mobility

Borrel: since 2018, the EU has spent €1.7bn on increasing military mobilityThe European Union’s diplomatic chief Josep Borrel said that since 2018, the EU has spent €1.7bn on increasing military mobility within the association.

The European official said this during a speech at the European forum on military mobility.

“Since 2018, the EU has already invested €1.7bn in 95 projects in 21 EU countries to increase the level of mobility of military forces in the EU,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Borrell added that the Ukrainian conflict has demonstrated that the projects created are not enough. He called for more to be done to ensure EU security.

Earlier, Borrel said that instead of pacifying the situation in Ukraine, European countries should redouble their efforts to arm Kiev with “the necessary tools” and revive the European military industry.
