JPMorgan bank chief: US ‘heading for a cliff’ over rising government debt

The CEO of US bank JPMorgan Chase, James Dimon, has said the United States is “heading for the cliff” at high speed because of rising government debt.

“It’s a cliff, we see a cliff. It’s about a decade away, we’re moving at 60 miles per hour,” Fox News quoted Dimon as saying.

According to him, at the moment the ratio of U.S. government debt to GDP already exceeds 100%, and it is predicted that by 2035 it will reach 130%.

Earlier, the head of the U.S. Treasury Department, Jeannette Yellen, called the U.S. foreign debt of $34 trillion frightening.
