White House: Sullivan pointed out to Wang Yi that US-PRC conflict is unacceptable

Armed conflict between the United States and China is unacceptable. This was stated by Jake Sullivan, Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Affairs, at a meeting with Wang Yi, head of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a document published by the White House press service, Sullivan stressed at the meeting with Wang Yi that despite the competition between the countries, both states should prevent it from escalating into conflict or confrontation.

In addition, during the meeting, the two sides discussed global and regional issues, including the crisis in Ukraine, the situations in the Middle East and the South China Sea, as well as the situation in the DPRK and Myanmar.

Earlier it was reported that Wang Yi called the Taiwan issue the main challenge for China-US relations.
