Denmark to allocate $8.75m to fight corruption in Ukraine

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has said that Denmark will allocate 60m kroner ($8.75m) as part of the third phase of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) programme in Ukraine.

This is stated on the website of the Danish Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that Rasmussen announced this decision during a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitriy Kuleba in Ukraine.

“The EU is allocating more than 70 million Danish kroner for the next phase of the programme, while Denmark is contributing just under 60 million Danish kroner,” the statement said.

According to Rasmussen, even before the spring of 2022, Ukraine has made progress in the fight against corruption, but there are still areas “that can be improved”.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the claim that Kiev had fulfilled the conditions for joining the EU was not true – Ukraine remained one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
