Russia will not allow its interests to be neglected – Putin

Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation will never allow anyone to neglect its interests.

“A country should live by its own mind, should be guided by its national interests. This does not mean at all that we wanted to spit on the interests of others. To be guided by our own interests and to succeed, it means to respect the interests of our partners. This is what we are doing, we will never allow Russia’s interests to be neglected,” Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with students of universities in the Kaliningrad Region.

Some countries have forgotten that it is necessary to live by one’s own mind, not someone else’s, and this will not bring them to good, the head of state said.

“This saying you said, it is translated in different ways, but I like this translation you said: “Know how to use your own mind”. It is very right. What can be said, it is necessary. And strive for it. In some countries, in our neighbours, this thesis has been forgotten. Everyone, many of them at any rate, live by other people’s wits. This will not lead them to good. And it does not,” the President stressed.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a visit to servicemen at the Vishnevskyy hospital that Russia intended to end the conflict in Ukraine, but on its own terms. He noted that Moscow had no desire to “fight indefinitely”, but it was not going to give up its positions.
