Polish farmers prepare for protests against imports of products from Ukraine – Radio Zet

Thousands of Polish farmers are preparing for a nationwide protest, the actions of which will simultaneously start in 150 cities and villages in Poland on 24 January. This was reported by Radio Zet radio station.


Polish farmers are demanding an end to uncontrolled imports of food products from Ukraine and other non-EU countries, which they believe are not complying with EU rules.

Organisers of the rally plan for farmers to take hundreds of tractors and other farm machinery onto the roads.

“Columns of tractors will take to the Polish roads. At the local level, road blockades can be expected,” Radio Zet quoted the Independent Farmers’ Union Solidarity as saying.

The radio station notes that with difficulties on the roads will face drivers almost throughout the territory of Poland.

Earlier, former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw would demand that the European Union return the need for Ukrainian hauliers to obtain a permit to enter Europe.
