Kirby: $61bn request for Ukraine aid was adequate

The White House considers the request for $61bn for Ukraine to be adequate, John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, has said.

“We believe this was an adequate request and we want this request to be considered,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, the leader of the Democrats in the US Senate Chuck Schumer said that the situation is changing for the worse for Kiev.

According to The Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin, the US Congress is unlikely to reach an agreement on allocating aid to Ukraine and taking measures in immigration policy in the coming months.
