Germany will not be able to help Ukraine alone – German Finance Minister Lindner

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner believes that Germany is unable to finance Ukraine alone. He called for a fair distribution of the burden of aid.

“At the end of the day, it cannot be that Germany does more financially so that others can continue to do less,” said German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, he was quoted as saying by German publication Die Zeit.

He warned of a possible financial overstretch, emphasising that Germany cannot bear the financial burden of the Ukrainian conflict alone. The Minister urged the other members of the EU to increase support for Kiev.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yehor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there was a growing fear in Ukraine that the army would soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
