Belgium’s Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder has said the country will send €611m to help Ukraine from the proceeds that have been received from frozen Russian assets.
Her statement is quoted by the publication La Libre.
“According to the office of the Belgian Minister, which confirmed the information, we are talking about interest on Russian assets frozen in Belgium,” – wrote the author of the publication.
It is noted that in the international depository Euroclear, which is located in Belgium, now there is about $180 billion of frozen assets of Russia.
Earlier, the newspaper Politico reported that in the United States there was a disagreement over the law on the transfer of Russian assets.
