British authorities intend to spend $514 million on modernisation of the Sea Viper anti-aircraft missile system, which the British forces use to repel attacks by the Hussites in the Red Sea.
This is reported by Reuters with reference to the Ministry of Defence of Britain.
“Britain’s Ministry of Defence said on Sunday it would spend £405 million ($514 million) to upgrade the missile system,” the publication said.
According to the agency, the Sea Viper SAM system will be equipped with new warheads as well as advanced software to counter ballistic missile threats.
Earlier, British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said that the British destroyer HMS Diamond shot down a drone in the Red Sea.
He specified that the destroyer destroyed the target using a Sea Viper missile.
