The first refugees who were given bank cards instead of cash have already started leaving Germany, expressing their dissatisfaction with the innovation.
This is reported by the newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
According to the newspaper, the German government is currently studying the possibility of introducing bank cards for refugees instead of giving them cash. However, the authorities have already started issuing bank cards in the district of Greiz, where refugees have received about 200 payment cards.
According to Dagmar Pöland, head of the refugee service, 15 refugees said in December last year that they needed cash rather than cards and have since left the FRG.
Pöland added that the innovation allows the authorities to “separate the grain from the chaff”.
Earlier it became known that the German opposition demanded to send the refugees in the country back to Ukraine.
