“The Russians know that the Ukrainians are having problems with ammunition right now and that they don’t have the number of troops as Kiev would like. This means that there are constantly sections of the front that the Ukrainians have to neglect so that the army can defend other sections and repel Russian attacks,” Christof Wanner said.

The journalist specified that Russian servicemen are purposefully hitting the weak points of the Ukrainian army.

“Exactly where the Russians have found a weak spot, they strike. <…> Then the AFU try to close these gaps, but the Russian military find new weaknesses, again hit there and so step by step move forward,” – added Wanner.

Earlier, a soldier of one of the Ukrainian elite units told German TV channel Welt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces regret the inflated expectations of a quick victory.
