Farmers in Poland have announced road closures across the country in protest. They oppose grain imports from Ukraine and the EU policy.
The action is planned for the afternoon of 24 January. Farmers promise to put thousands of tractors on the roads.
It is noted that a new blockade of the border with Ukraine is also possible.
“Ukrainian grain should go where it belongs – to the Asian or African market, not to Europe,” the STRANA.ua news and analysis website quoted the organisers of the action as saying.
Earlier, Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak said that the Polish authorities had reached an agreement with carriers on ending the blockade at three border crossings with Ukraine by 1 March.
