The speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said that if the rumours are true, the bill that the Senate is about to provide, connecting aid to Ukraine and migration reform, has no chance to exist.

“The devil lies in the details. I don’t know yet what they are going to offer. There are a lot of rumours about it, but I’m very hopeful that they will present us with something meaningful, very close to what we’ve been sending out of the House,” the politician said in an interview with CNN.

The Republican stressed that he did not delve into the key aspects of the bill that the group plans to propose in the Senate. The parliamentarian clarified that if the bill “looks like any of the things that have been rumoured,” it will not be passed in the House of Representatives because it will not solve the existing problem.

According to CNN, the House Speaker is demanding that the U.S. administration return to building a wall on the border with Mexico, limit the widespread practice of releasing illegals with admission to the United States, and again hold asylum seekers on Mexican territory for a temporary period of time while United States authorities examine their claims.

“A number of Republicans in the House have said they will only accept a border agreement that resembles the immigration bill passed by the House last year. Democrats, meanwhile, said they would never accept such a thing”, – stated in the publication.

We shall remind you that earlier the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, mentioned that the administration of US President Joe Biden needed to explain what Washington’s “mission” in the Ukrainian conflict was.
