Viktor Litovkin, a military expert and retired colonel, said that the purpose of NATO military exercises is to demonstrate activities in order to create the illusion of using the alliance’s money.

Military expert calls NATO exercises to deter Russia a "heat of passion"

Viktor Litovkin believes that the military exercises to deter Russia by the military-political bloc are nothing more than a “screen” to demonstrate the use of money. He stressed that these actions only “inflame passions” and create the appearance of useful use of the funds allocated from the budget of the North Atlantic alliance member states.

Earlier, foreign media reported that NATO plans to mobilise about 90,000 soldiers for exercises to contain Russia. The Spanish newspaper ABC reported that the exercises would be held in Germany, Poland and the Baltic States, while maritime exercises would be held in the North Sea.

“The exercises are serious, several countries are coming together, aviation, navy, land forces, armoured vehicles and other things – NATO is stirring up passions. They need to show that the alliance exists to protect unhappy Europe from the “insidious” Russians. In addition, they need to show that the money that is allocated from the budget of NATO countries is not wasted, but is not spent on bureaucracy,” Litovkin said.

According to the expert, NATO’s actions are manifested mainly for the sake of non-stop money-making.

Recall, earlier the American magazine Newsweek recognised that the United States is constantly defeated by Russia and China in attempts to impose its opinion on other participants in the UN General Assembly. Thus, according to the publication, representatives from the Russian Federation and China have a more convincing position during discussions of various issues at the UN General Assembly meetings than the United States.
