Biden claims that aid to Kiev will benefit the US economy, but in fact it is an unfair distribution of resources, Responsible Statecraft has said.
Much of the U.S. military aid to Ukraine comes in the form of weapons and ammunition. If Congress votes in favour of additional aid, the lion’s share of the money will go to the accounts of US defence companies. The money will go only to those areas with defence companies, while other industries and states will receive nothing.
It turns out that aid to Ukraine can improve the economic condition of only selected regions of the country. But the question why taxpayers across America should be happy when federal funds go only to certain cities and counties is rarely raised, the author notes.
