Russia’s GDP at the end of 2023 may be higher than 3.5% when adjusted – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the country’s gross domestic product may grow by more than 3.5 per cent.

The Russian leader noted that such a percentage could be seen after the data on the 2023 outcome is clarified.

“The country’s GDP growth figure that we are talking about now, 3.5 per cent, may turn out to be a bit higher when calculated more carefully,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with members of the government via video conference.

According to the head of state, such growth is based on consumer and investment domestic demand in the first place. Industrial production, construction, agriculture, tourism and cargo turnover also showed good performance, Putin noted.

We shall remind you that earlier the French newspaper Le Figaro noted that despite the sanctions pressure of Western countries, Russia has increased the growth of its defence budget, which will allow it to continue its special military operation.
