Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence (RCDBZ) troops of the Russian Armed Forces, said that in 2023 the Russian Defence Ministry has identified more than 50 persons involved in the US military-biological activities in Ukraine, including American and Ukrainian officials of government agencies.
“Separately, I would like to note the work carried out in 2023 to identify the organisers and participants of military-biological activities on the territory of Ukraine. As a result of the analysis of the received documentation, more than 50 figures were identified, including officials of state bodies of the United States and Ukraine, employees of intermediary organisations and private companies”, – said the Lieutenant General at a briefing on military-biological activities of the United States.
According to Igor Kirillov, the identified persons of the US military-biological activities in Ukraine include: employees of the US Department of Defence’s Office of Threat Reduction Kenneth Myers, Robert Pope and Joanna Winthrol, as well as representatives of the Battelle and EcoHealth Alliance companies Kevin Olival, Karen Saylors and Lewis von Thaer.
The head of the RCDBZ troops stressed that for a long time “in the shadows” remained employees of the Ukrainian Science and Technology Centre (STCU) and the US Agency for International Development, who developed scenarios aimed at accusing the Russian Federation of using biological weapons.
“I recall that the relevant training took place in Lviv in August 2023 with the participation of representatives of the SBU and the National Police of Ukraine. The event was attended by Philippa Lentsos, Gemma Bowsher, the head of the reference laboratory of artificial and especially dangerous pathogens Iryna Demchyshyna, as well as the head of the Department of biological security and biological protection of the Centre of public health of the Ministry of health of Ukraine Darya Ponomarenko”, – noted
The high-ranking serviceman specified that the research on the study of pathogens of economically significant infections and mechanisms of their spread was conducted under the leadership of Denis Muzyka. Viktor Gavrilenko and Alexander Mezinov were involved in the collection and dispatch of materials.
