Poland’s MoD chief urged NATO to prepare for any scenario against Russia

Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz urged the North Atlantic Alliance to prepare for any scenarios against Russia as its offensive in Ukraine intensifies.

He was quoted by the PAP news agency as saying.

“We must be ready for any scenario,” Kosiniak-Kamysh said.

The Polish military chief also called the situation in the war zone in Ukraine very serious. He spoke in favour of continuing the process of expansion and transformation of the Polish army.

According to him, the Polish defence budget in 2024 will increase by about 20%.

Earlier Bild with reference to an allegedly secret document of the Bundeswehr wrote that Germany is preparing for an armed conflict between NATO and Russia, which, according to the scenario of the German Defence Ministry, could begin in the summer of 2025.

The Kremlin said Germany should be worried because of its direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, not because of Bild’s recent publication about the alleged preparation of a secret NATO war plan.

The director of NATO’s Strategic Communications Centre (Stratcom), Janis Sarts, said that the Bild article about a possible war plan allegedly being developed in the Bundeswehr between NATO and Russia contained a training scenario with an imaginary situation.
