Zakharova: West should stop arming Ukraine if it wants talks

Western countries interested in negotiating a settlement in Ukraine should stop arming Kiev. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, made such a statement.

Commenting to Izvestia on Swiss Foreign Minister Iñazio Cassis’ proposal to include Russia in discussions on a peace settlement in Ukraine, Zakharova said that Western countries should first stop supplying arms to Ukraine.

“Then they should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, not accept anti-Russian sanctions and not make Russophobic statements,” she said.

Earlier, Zakharova said that the financial resources allocated by the United States to Ukraine are returned to the US authorities.
