Britain’s ruling Conservative party is heading for its most serious electoral defeat since 1997. This is according to the results of a social survey conducted by YouGov among 14,000 people.
According to the survey, the Conservatives could win 169 mandates out of 650 seats in the House of Commons at the end of the year, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The Labour Party, which is in opposition, can count on 385 mandates, the poll showed.
The Daily Mail newspaper in December, citing members of parliament from the ruling Conservative Party, wrote that former Prime Minister Boris Johnson could take office again thanks to a plan by a group of Conservative MPs.
