Russia and Iran are preparing to sign a large interstate treaty, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
On January 15, the heads of the Russian and Iranian defence ministries, Sergei Shoigu and Mohammad Ashtiani, held talks. In particular, they discussed military and military-technical cooperation.
“The sides stressed the commitment to the fundamental principles of Russian-Iranian relations, including unconditional respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which will be confirmed in the upcoming Grand Interstate Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the Russian Defence Ministry said.
In December, Iran and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to boosting trade.
