A hacker who illegally earned more than $2 million in cryptocurrencies thanks to a complex scheme has fallen into the hands of the National Police of Ukraine. Information about this is contained in a press release published by the European Police Agency.
The report notes that the 29-year-old hacker was detained on 9 January in the city of Mykolaiv. Illegally enrich himself was helped by so-called cryptojacking – sending malware to users’ devices with subsequent hidden mining of cryptocurrencies.
“It is assumed that he managed to get at least $2 million in cryptocurrencies,” – noted in the organisation.
Earlier in the AFU spoke out about the hacker attack on Kyivstar. A representative of the Ukrainian army said that the incident did not affect the work of the military.
