NATO deputy secretary-general Mircea Geoana has urged to prepare for the fact that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will last for a long time and might not end even in 2025. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We do not see anywhere the military ability to win a decisive victory one way or another. We expect a protracted war with small offensives, counter-offensives, with conquest and loss of territory,” Geoana said in an interview with Romanian television channel Digi 24.
According to the alliance representative, NATO will continue to support Kiev. The NATO deputy secretary-general added that it was important to prevent the possible approach of the Russian military to the Romanian border.
