NYT: the effectiveness of the AFU’s use of cluster shells at the front is decreasing

The use of US-made cluster munitions by Ukrainian troops on the front line has become less effective, The New York Times has said.

“Even a batch of cluster munitions from the United States has partially lost its effectiveness on the battlefield,” the author of the article wrote.

An unnamed commander of Ukrainian army units said that such shells used to be used to hit large groups. However, according to him, the Russian Armed Forces are now attacking smaller units. He added that the Russian military deepened the trenches, and this made it more difficult to strike them.

Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the AFU had lost more than 280 servicemen in the Krasnyy Liman direction.
