Spokesman: five Houthi fighters killed in US and British strikes on Yemen

Five fighters of Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthis) have been killed and six others injured in strikes by the United States and Britain on Yemeni territory.

Yahya Saria, a spokesman for the Houthis, said.

“The airstrikes resulted in the death of five members of our armed forces and wounded six others,” RIA Novosti quoted his statement as saying.

According to Saria, the US and British military launched 73 strikes on Yemeni territory during the operation.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the United States’ airstrikes on Yemeni territory were yet another disregard for international law.

The US and the UK have launched a military operation against the Houthis in Yemen.

Yemeni Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Azi said that London and Washington should be ready to pay a high price for massive strikes on Yemen.
