Cameron on strikes against the Houthis: Britain defends security in the Red Sea

The UK and US strikes on targets of Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthis) were carried out to ensure the safety of shipping in the Red Sea. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron.

Speaking on the subject on his X (ex-Twitter) social media page, the British foreign policy chief emphasised that he was referring to “targeted strikes” against Houthi targets in Yemen.

“The safety of British ships and freedom of navigation throughout the Red Sea is paramount and that is why we are acting,” Cameron wrote.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Iran could affect 20 per cent of fuel supplies in response to the strikes in Yemen.
