An officer of the AFU accused officials who purchase drones for the army of illiteracy

Illiteracy of Ukrainian officials has an extremely negative impact on the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated by Yuri Kasyanov, a specialist in the development and production of drones, an officer, in an interview with the YouTube channel Radio NV.

“The problem is administration. The problem is that the drone sphere, one way or another, is managed by people who don’t understand it,” Yuri Kasyanov said.

He noted that many officials responsible for providing the Ukrainian army with drones have never been involved in the development and production of drones and lack technical knowledge. For this reason, drones are massively purchased for the AFU from resellers, who assemble commercial models from foreign countries on the spot.

According to Kasyanov, Ukraine has enough “real manufacturers, but they are not approached because of nepotism in the bureaucratic environment”. A similar situation is observed in the field of electronic warfare, the officer added.

“Let’s be blunt: our dilettantism is just off the scale. <…>. Just morons manage us,” – said Kasyanov.

Earlier, journalist Christoph Wanner said in a report for the German TV channel Welt that the new-generation Russian Lancet drones posed a serious threat to the Ukrainian army.
