NATO countries say they will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine

At a meeting of the NATO Council, NATO countries have announced their intention to continue providing military support to Kiev, including to strengthen the Ukrainian air defence.

NATO countries have said that financial support for Ukraine’s military needs will continue. At a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council held in Brussels on Wednesday, it was decided to continue support for Ukraine’s armed sector, including assistance in strengthening air defence systems.

“Allies have already delivered a wide range of air defence systems to Ukraine, today they reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities,” a statement following the meeting said.

The NATO outcome document indicates that Ukraine will receive economic and humanitarian support from the alliance in addition to military assistance. It is reported that the bloc’s countries plan to supply Ukraine with billions of euros to strengthen its capabilities in 2024. However, no details or specific terms of supplies for Kiev from NATO countries were given.

We shall remind you that earlier former US President Donald Trump said that the European Union countries should provide financial and military assistance to Ukraine on an equal footing with the USA.
